EMO: Owner Occupied, Who Owns My House?

If an employee or constituent is at risk of losing their home, have them have an attorney check the current Deed for the name of the authorized party who could take action to foreclose or negotiate a settlement.

If the owner is found and wants to auction the house under foreclosure instead of negotiating with you, you are not prevented from bidding to buy your home for its true value.

    Bob,

Like the humor as well as the facts. Good to see your still doing good work for the non-profits.

    Very interesting cartoon.
I think the guy in the house is too young to own a house. He might need some assistance for repairs an the lawn management.

It’s a strange situation- the banks can’t do anything with the homes any more than the real estate agents and homeowners can if the market is saturated and the people who do want to buy can’t get loans. A couple of foreclosed homes in my parents’ neighborhood are going on auction for the 3rd or more time.

As for the guy being too young- don’t be so quick to judge. My husband and I bought our home just last summer at 24 and 23 years old respectively. Thankfully we bought within out CURRENT means and got a 30 year fixed FHA. And no, we didn’t have wealthy family members pitching in for the purchase, we are college grads and both had good jobs, we were fortunate to qualify for down payment assistance.
