The defining of a quality of life for a child and increasing the child’s ability of obtaining all government benefits is best served by creating special needs trusts.
Recently, it has been shown that the intended person is not always benefiting from the trusts fully due to high fees or reluctance to spend money on behalf of the named beneficiary. It is important to for consumers to obtain flat fees and to designate in writing their intention of how the money should be used. The nonprofit community is a prime organization to partner with for-profits to delivery the service or should create the service line themselves.
