Nonprofit company makes its owners wealthy

Edward Dawson started his business in 1978 and he and his wife Marcia built it into the $63 million a year business it is today. Over the past five years the couple have earned more than $7 million in salary and deferred compensation. The problem that arises is that these two collect their wealth from operating a nonprofit funded by taxpayer dollars. They have been able to secure this money by squeezing by and barely playing by the nonprofit laws that are out there.
