Saturday, August 1st, 2009

From The Wall Street Journal:

The government is not taking our privledge to living a healthy life away because of the health care reform. The whole purpose of Obama’s health care plan is to provide all citizens of the US affordable health care. America was built on the idea of choice. And living a healthy life is the smartest choice we can make for our familys future and our country’s.

Making Decisions without the Facts

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

What I’d really like to know is the actual terms and benefits the proposed federal health insurance coverage will provide to citizens. There has been much speculation over how citizens will leave their employer’s health coverage for federal health coverage since it will be so much cheaper. But with a cheaper coverage, are people really getting the same benefits as private insurance companies offer? Before we all decide to go for the cheaper coverage the White House needs to come up with a coverage plan. Maybe by that time people will see that the federal plan isn’t nearly as good as the one they have now.

Having Faith in cheap Alternative Medicine

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

Alternative medicine, also known as medical practices that places prescriptions and surgeries at the bottom of the list of options to get us healthy, may finally be getting the attention it deserves. However, this attention is not regarding medical advantages, instead its about saving money. I’m all for saving money, but I’d like some solid proof showing that Alternative medicine will help with arthritis pains compared to prescription drugs that are clinically proven to work.

Salaries for Doctors

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

Following Obama’s health insurance plan, everything in the medical field, from  research to paying doctors are under scrutiny.  Obama’s knew health insurance plan might just put a tighter hold on medical insurers, resulting in Doctors choosing less expensive procedures, which will lead to smaller fees. However, Doctors all across Europe get paid through a salary, and I’m pretty sure they’re living quite comfortably.

A possible ricochet affect of health care reform

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

 From the Wall Street Journal:

A tax on health care insurers is an interesting way to boost our economy. Of course, with these taxes placed on insurance providers, the employers who offer health care packages exceeding a certain price would have to pay most if not all of the tax put on insurance providers. If an employer is charged to pay for taxes than more than likely an employee will have a smaller pay check every month. Americans may not like that idea, but it is a price we will all have to pay.

Veterans In the hands of claims processors

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

Comment on this Article from the New York Times:

Accountability is something that is respected and honored for one’s actions in our country’s military. The Veterans Benefits Administration, because of its awful claims handling, apperently doesnt believe in accountability. In defense of the administration, they usually recieve about 82,000 claims a month, that is not a small number by any stretch. With 13,000 claims processors working for the administration, you would think they could put some kind of dent in that 82,000. But as stated before, the administration has lost its value in accountability. As a result, veterans are paying the price for defending our country.
